Movies / Stories:
1. How lovable is the main character and his cause? Do I hate this guy, do I want him to lose for any reason? Why is this a big deal? If you don't like the main character, then chances are it is a combination of a lack of personality, an entire lacking in any real followable boundary of logic for the character, or something to that degree. Evil characters are not bad characters, but bad characters are characters where you can stare at for hours and have absolutely no clue why the hell they should have any chance to succeed. [15 Points]
2. How cool does this look? How captivated am I by what is going on before my eyes?
Beautiful artwork is always a good plus. If something looks crappy it may really be a downfall, but it really isn't that important. What is important is how well the artwork or visuals guide your perspective. If the story is the path you are riding toward, the visuals are how comfy the ride is there. It can be bumpy, comfy, or absolutely thrilling. [40 Points]
3. How well is this story crafted? What makes it interesting, and why does it draw me in?
A good story generally has a needlessly large reservoir of information people never get to see. Science Fiction flicks usually have a science of their own that grounds the logic of that supernatural or otherwise foreign world, and things that make little sense make sense in their own ways. Now, I know that I was taught that there is a formula to making good movies, but I personally believe what makes a good movie or story is not a systematic scheme of things, but rather how well the artist forged their fantasy into reality. Even if a movie wasn't for me, that won't really dock them points here much. I mainly am looking to see if the boundaries of logic their world holds are solid and well founded. Being awesome and cool is always a good bonus. [60 Points]
4. Is the music badass? Good music is magic, bad music is something you have to endure.
What I am looking for in this category is if the music and sound effects in general provide support for the feel of the story or movie, or bend it over the washer and spank it with a shovel. [20 Points]
These will be graded in total to have 135 possible, with additional bonus points possible to be granted if something absolutely blew me away. I am more than aware that these review are personal opinion, but I believe that there are many out there that would agree with my statements on them.
